About Me

I’m made of a cheerful alloy of creative thinking and data-loving process orientation, bonded to a substrate of terrier tenacity.

I’m fond of detail and precision but am more tolerant of ambiguity than many. Probably because I have an ability to see the forest AND the trees I am able to work happily with minutiae while not losing track of the big picture.

WORKING STIFF — Storrs Library, Sunnyvale Public Library, Multnomah County Central Library, Columbia Helicopters, Tektronix, ADP (now CDK Global), Target, Washington County Cooperative Library Services.
JOINER — Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club, Cairn Terrier Club of America, Oregon Trail’s End Earthdog Club.
LEADER — Officer, board member, committee member, co-founder of organizations. Manager of people and processes.
COMPETENCIES — Communication, technology, process development, technical manufacturing, teamwork, management, teaching, coaching. All these things light my fire. If you need light and heat in these areas, let’s talk.

The documentation department I helped manage at ADP (now CDK Global) was disassembled to make way for a different development methodology and the management team was vaporized in a major restructuring. I loved what I was doing but I’m excited by the prospect of new work.

I have recently returned to the roots of my first jobs — I am so pleased to have found my home with the good people and great work of Washington County Cooperative Library Services.
